Walking

From the door are several round walks to explore Bradford Dale, Lathkill Dale, over the hill to Haddon Hall, along the Limestone Way to Robin Hoods Stride. The Dales provide beautiful valley walks while further afield the Dark Peak takes the explorer across moors and heights with stunning views. See other page for more details.

Climbing

Youlgrave lies halfway between the grit of Curbar and the limestone of Matlock. Robin Hoods Stride lies half a mile away along the Limestone Way for a local warm up.

Fishing

Mostly fly fishing for trout. The Peacock Hotel at Rowsley (3 miles) sells day tickets for the River Wye from Rowsley to Bakewell.
